The fuel efficient 1.4 VW - with the 5 speed shift

      by ezshift5 on 7/5/2026 1:57:51 PM

I returned my VW diesel in accord with the factory "buy back" offer...................and I got a brand new Jetta for a very low price. After 70,000 miles - - - - no issues ! This car is very fuel efficient...........an 800 mile Sacramento to LA via I-5 calc'd out to 53 MPG. Driving the car - using the easy shifting manual transmission - and the very light clutch is a pleasure.. The sole downside would be the cost of dealership service (so we use CSAA) Again no issues at all…

      Dad wagon wins!

by Red on 6/12/2026 11:03:04 PM

I recently was fortunate enough to acquire a 2011 jetta wagon 2.5l for a really low price due to "misfire" and poor performance. Went with a cold air intake and straight piped from cat back and 18inch asa revolution rims. You can feel the power increase. I'm waiting to get a stage one tune and maybe a performance intake manifold.…

      Bitter sweet

by Feeeny on 5/13/2026 2:51:16 AM

Getting this car was my first time buying a car on my own. Prior to this I was driving a 2007 Chevy cobalt coupe and I hated it. Wanted a refresh and got all my money together for this and I was inlove with the Jetta immediately. Granted it was a huge step up from what I had, and there were much better cars out there, but it’s the peoples car for a reason. It’s reliable, fun, and nice to look at. Were my oil changes $85? Sure. But better than driving a Corolla.…
