Controlling Pet Hair in Your Car

Pets make the perfect companions, and of course we want to bring them along in the car with us, but their fur can really wreak havoc on your upholstery. Before letting your pet ride along with you, give them a good brushing to remove loose hair.

You can purchase special seat covers that will prevent both fur and stains from ruining your seats, but even a towel can go a long way to protecting the surface. Place your pet in a carrier for the journey to keep fur at a minimum.

If you find you've got lots of pet hairs you just can't remove, you can mix two teaspoons of fabric softener with some water in a spray bottle and spritz the upholstery. This will help to loosen the hairs. It will also give your car a fresh scent. Rub over your damp seats with a paper towel or rubber glove to draw the hairs into bunches that you can easily remove.
